FUNDRAISING IDEAS!
|
By now you’ve had an opportunity to look over my web-site, seen the partial list of satisfied schools and been able to judge for yourself the value that these presentations have for you, your school and the students. Yet, you think you may not be able to afford to bring in such a powerful, effective program to your school.
I think you can! You aren’t the first school to feel left out of a much needed program such as what we offer, due to lack of funds. You just need to get creative!
PTO/PTA’s and other school/parent groups. These groups are formed to help promote the education of children and the continuing growth of the school. It has been my experience that many of these groups are more than happy to assist schools in meeting the fee’s or if their budget permits even financing the speaker themselves. Many groups are interested in bringing in a program that benefits all the students.
Uncle Sam, Government Grants and Funds for Special Subject Areas. Yes, even though cuts are being made left and right, there are funds available for teaching about certain subject areas. State and Federal Governments fund topics such as:
Bullying Prevention
Drug and Alcohol
Self-Esteem
Character Building
Many, many other topics |
Local Civic Organizations. Are you aware that many civic organizations have funds budgeted for distribution in the education of children in certain areas? A simple phone call to civic organizations may help you fund the programs you need for your school. (It also gets some positive publicity for the civic organization too!) Try talking to:
Lions Club Moose Lodges
Eagles Club Shrine Clubs
Kiwanis Club Elks Club
many, many more may be listed in the yellow pages under civic organizations or clubs. |
Chambers of Commerce and other Business Organizations. If they’re in your community, they have an investment in the educational facilities in the area. Businesses may not be able to contribute much on an individual basis, but there is power in numbers. Just give them a call!
Corporations and Franchises. Is there a McDonalds nearby? How about a Burger King or other fast food restaurant? Maybe your community hosts a large manufacturing plant or a corporate office? Do you know that many of these businesses have Community Relations Programs? The names may differ, but if they’re in your community, they have a vested interest in the education of their kids!
Many franchise operations will donate food or beverages to schools for special events. They may even help under-write the cost. Many Wal-Mart stores have been very generous in helping out in their communities.
All you have to do is ASK!
Multi-Presentation Discounts. That’s right, discounts! When you hire A K T Speaking for more than one engagement, you save over the total cost of individual presentations. Invite another school to participate and share the costs. Invite several schools to participate and save even more, while reaching more children with this important message!
I hope you have found these ideas helpful! If you have some ideas you would like added to the list, please contact A K T Speaking.
It has been my experience that people, businesses and even the government want to help others, we only need to ask!
